We came from overseas with a considerable time difference and were quite tired. The not so great things were a breakfast buffet too expensive (25 euros pp!) and a very first noisy night. The spa needs a bit of refurbishment as it is showing its age. We also enjoyed a visit to the spa and were there by ourselves. Staff for the most part were friendly and ready to assist. Bathrooms are nice though water spills out of the shower (whether open or closed). It's a fairly large hotel and the rooms are roomy and very clean. It's in a nice shopping and walkable area with lots of places to eat at too. We will not be 's going to always be "The One" or "ABaC Hotel".Ġ.55km from DiR Diagonal This hotel is very well located though not in the center of the city (which we didn't want to be). Hopefully you will not have the same experience as we did. ***!!!? Honestly this hotel has a lot of potential because its quite nice and the customer service was great, but it's lacking in many other areas. He waited at door and insisted that we needed to check out. About 15 minutes after we got to our room, an employee barged into the room without knocking and we were in the middle of an intimate moment with no clothes on. One of the elevators was on the verge of breaking and I feel bad for the people who's rooms were nearby because it sounded like a space ship launching into space. It feels like you are laying on a big pile of dirty clothes. The room was very warm and the air conditioning was weak so we slept with the bedroom and bathroom windows open.
Negatives: the view from the room was of a staircase and wall. There are lots of quiet, pretty parks close to the hotel as well as an excellent shopping centre. However, public transport (buses and trams) makes it easy to reach Placa Catalunya, Sagrada Familia etc. We were not on a sight-seeing trip and needed to be in the Les Cortes area of Barcelona so we were aware that the hotel was not in close proximity to main tourist attractions and beaches. The reception and staff were polite and helpful. The gym and pool area were also well maintained. The shower was very good and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also modern and of a good size.
